Integrating Technology into Genre-based Writing Instruction for Multilingual Learners

Although L2 writing is an essential element in multilingual learners’ language and literacy development K–12 schools, it often underemphasized overlooked lieu of the greater emphasis placed on reading. This lack focus warrants need for more specific instruction schooling, especially since through skills that learners become better able to communicate interact with others, achieve academic success career advancement, have access increased opportunities within outside instructional settings. The achievement these goals can be facilitated support educators implementation a genre-based pedagogy. In this article, we discuss how technology integrated into instruction, highlighting different tools used at various points time both face-to-face online environments. We also provide examples facilitate pedagogy, based research elementary, secondary, tertiary classrooms.
